Family Therapy

"The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers."
                                                                                                                                                Thich Nhat Hanh
Family therapy can often be helpful when there are issues of parent/child conflict, stepfamily problems, child or adolescent behavior problems, substance abuse problems.

If your family is experiencing discord, unhappiness, fighting, conflict or other problems it is possible to develop healthier family interactions through the process of family therapy. In family therapy, the problems are addressed during the sessions where every family member has a voice and where multiple perspectives are heard. I can support your family in developing the family atmosphere and relationships that you desire. At times, different parts of your family will be seen and at times the entire family will meet together. The course of therapy will be developed after some initial assessment sessions and in collaboration with you.

Stepfamilies often have problems with loyalties, grief, adjustment, and expectations. Understanding the stages of stepfamily formation and learning ways to strengthen the marriage while helping children to adjust can be very helpful in reducing some of the most stressful stepfamily transitions. Early intervention is key to preventing more serious problems from developing.
